hoppers

January 31, 2008

The kids rescued this little hopper from the pool this afternoon. A tonne of these critters have bred up since the rain & locust plagues can totally devastate the feed. So, we’re hoping their cycle is almost finished & that the damage will be minimal this time.

Miz Booshay: Ah. Summertime. Are your winter's harsh? I love your storyboards. I bought Jinky's storyboards yesterday to try to do this....and I am having such a hard time. I don't know what to do with them....technically. I wish they sent directions.

Monique Wye: ahhh the dreaded hoppers!! eeek.... they wiped out everything here about 2 years ago & what they didn't get on day one they finished on day two! Hope they don't cause any damage for you.

Donna: Hi! Donna here - just thought I'd drop you a quick line to say that firstly I really love looking at the photos you take - they are absolutely stunning! And secondly - it's a funny turn of events, I have just moved from Longreach to Geraldton in WA! I wish I had known of you whilst i was there - perhaps we could have swapped photography tips! Do you school your kidlets through LSODE? You may also be interested in another blog of mine - a weekly photo challenge called Gallery 12 - let's know what you think! http://thedigichallenge.blogspot.com/ I'm totally bitten by the bug after purchasing my Canon 400d. Hope you've had a nice day, Donna J

town day

January 25, 2008

Today, the whole family made the 300km round trip to town - its lovely to see the countryside still looking so lush & green.

bush harvest is a local arts & crafts co-operative that i joined when i moved to the area. Their shop stocks all sorts of interesting handmade items – but these recycled corrugated iron & timber dogs are my favourite

PS. the poor baby fell out of a tree last week & you can still see the marks on his chin. what is it about boys & trees?!!

Monique Wye: I vote colour! :) Just gorgeous........! ooooh I have a boy just like him with constant 'battle wounds'..... it is really 'boys will be boys'! :)

Char Otto: thanks for popping by my blog and leaving a comment Charleigh...to answer your question - i used my new lens 50mm F1.2 on those photo's...i LOVE that lens!! Hey, whats your Flickr address...i'm there too and trying to find you.... Oh...and i like them both but slightly more the sepia one! ...Char...

Pip Prosser: Hi Charleigh, I have popped by your blog in such a long time ... imagine my pleasant surprise to find that there are DAILY POSTS ... most impressed ... your photos are truly magical and it is wonderful to see you property looking so lush .... send some of those storms our way ... I am looking forward to stopping by more regularly ... oh I like the colour photo more ... take care, Pip.

Miz Booshay: First of all, your little guy is adorable. For some reason I like the color for this one. Very sweet peach tones!

Suzannah: I think I must have a funny eye, but (going against the general consensus) I like sepia for this one... To me you can "see more Bear" in the sepia, the other one I am too distracted by the colour, but looks like I'm the only one LOL Cute shot charleigh!
